
Yegor's recent important engagements included performances of "Improvisations sur Mallarmé" by Pierre Boulez, "Music for Eighteen Musicians" by Steve Reich, György Ligeti's Piano Concerto with the Tactus Ensemble as well as Mozart's Concerto in F Major No 19, Rondo in A Major for Piano and Orchestra. As a chamber musician, Yegor performed works by Hurel, Schubert, Furrer, Cage, Villa-Lobos, Pesson, Mozart, Ligeti, Birtwistle, Schoenberg, Berio, Feldman, Mellits, Crumb, Mason among many others, as well as giving solo recitals in and around New York.
In a recent performance of Vaughn Williams' On Wenlock Edge with the tenor Philip Castagner, Yegor was praised by Miami Herald for his "superb musicianship and evocative piano playing." Yegor performed for Mark Morris Dance Company's weeklong residency at Jacob's Pillow, Massachusetts in August of 2007, and in Ann Arbor, Michigan in September 2008. Both performances were met with critical success.
Yegor was a Tanglewood Fellow in the summers of 2007 and 2008, where he had the opportunity to be coached privately and in masterclasses by such artists as James Levine, Martin Katz, Dawn Upshaw, Renée Fleming, Emmanuel Ax, Claude Franck, Ursula Oppens and Yo-Yo Ma. In 2003, Yegor was selected to participate in the month-long intensive workshop on Beethoven's Piano Sonatas with Daniel Barenboim at Carnegie Hall.
Yegor was born in Lviv, Ukraine, where he began to play piano at an early age. He is a doctoral candidate at the Manhattan School of Music, where he received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Yegor is the recipient of the Pablo Casals Award from the Manhattan School. Prior to his coming to the United States, Yegor was a George Soros scholar in economics and a champion ballroom dancer.
