Featuring water fountains, bells, gongs, drums, sandpaper and marimbas,
Red Light will kick off its 2008-2009 season with a concert of new works for percussion duo. The duo of Al Cerulo and Joe Bergen will premiere four exciting works by composers Nils Vigeland, Scott Wollschleger,
Kyle Hillbrand,
and Vincent Raikhel. Alongside these works, the duo are creating an audio and visual tapestry of film and environmental sounds which seeks to redefine the traditional form of a concert.

The Red Light Ensemble performs 13 of your favorite holiday classics including Jingle Bells, Away in a Manger, Let It Snow, Carol of the Bells, It Came Upon a Midnight Clear and more, inventively reimagined by composers
Reiko Füting, Nils Vigeland, Christopher Cerrone, Ted Hearne,
Liam Robinson, Vincent Raikhel, Kyle Hillbrand, Scott Wollschleger,
Derek Muro, Daniel Vezza, David Broome, Kevins Sims, Andy Noble,
and Natacha Diels.
Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served.

The Red Light Ensemble performs works by Red Light composers Liam Robinson, Scott Wollschleger and Vincent Raikhel as well as the winner of our second annual composition competition, Charlie Wilmoth. The concert also features Accords Perdu, a rarely performed work for two horns by the French spectral master, Gérard Grisey and Vessels, a new piece by Red Light conductor, Ted Hearne.

Friday, April 10, 2009, 7:00pm : Feldman and Furrer: Portraits

The Red Light Ensemble performs chamber music by two great composers of the late 20th century, Morton Feldman and Beat Furrer. In addition to these performances, the concert will feature a rare screening of the work of Luxembourgian filmmaker Bady Minck, who has crafted elegant and beautiful films around music by these two composers.

Members of the Red Light Ensemble perform works by Peter Ablinger and Roland Dahinden, as well as premieres by Red Light composers Scott Wollschleger, Derek Muro, Vincent Raikhel, Tiziano Manca, and Kyle Hillbrand.

The Red Light Ensemble brings a concert of classic Red Light works to the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. The concert will feature Gerard Grisey's Vortex Temporum and Morton Feldman's The Viola in My Life (II) as well as works by Red Light composers Christopher Cerrone, Vincent Raikhel, Liam Robinson, and Scott Wollschleger.

Monday, June 29, 2009, 7:30pm : John Cage's Sonatas and Interludes

Pianist David Broome performs his electrifying interpretation of John Cage's groundbreaking Sonatas and Interludes at New York hotspot LPR. Four composers from around the world, Marc Chan, Kevin Sims, Yoav Pasovsky, and Paul Friedrich Frick, have been commissioned to write new interludes for the work. Played alongside the work will be original videos by filmmaker Justin Blome.
